“Exploring Inequalities” introduces different aspects of inequality (health, age, race, religion), its relational nature and its cross cutting impact. The workshop uses tools such as a ‘power walk’ to ask students to identify with different perspectives to allow them to understand the effects inequality can have at an individual level. Students then work together, using problem solving skills to identify causes and effects and potential solutions to issues arising from inequality. The workshop is framed around sociology and social policy and demonstrates the role these subjects can play in topical concerns.
